Account deletion

This page explains how to delete your Retail Scan & Stock cloud account and exactly what happens to your data. Retail Scan & Stock is a local-first app. Most business data such as your product catalog, counting sessions, purchase orders, receiving records, and write-offs lives only on your device and never leaves it unless you use paid cloud features or export files yourself.

If you have never signed in to Retail Scan & Stock, you do not have a cloud account and there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Removing the app from your device will clear local data on that device.

How to delete your cloud account in the app

  1. Open Retail Scan & Stock on your device
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Tap the account section
  4. Select Delete account
  5. Confirm the action

Your cloud account and related cloud records are deleted immediately together. The deletion cannot be undone.

What is deleted from our servers

When you delete your cloud account, we remove the following data from our cloud backend:

  • Your sign-in identity (email address and linked Google identity, if applicable)
  • Your account registration details (such as device identifier, locale, and store name you provided)
  • Information about linked sign-in providers (for example Google), when you use them
  • Your cloud workspace and your membership in it
  • Document usage counters tracked for free-tier limits
  • Your subscription tier record
  • Analytics events associated with your account

When your sign-in is removed, these related records are removed together from our cloud backend. We do not keep a separate archive of these records after deletion.

Retention of backups

Our database provider retains automated point-in-time backups for up to 7 days for disaster recovery purposes. Deleted records may remain in these backups for that window and are permanently removed when the backup rolls off. Backups are encrypted and are not accessible for routine use. We do not restore individual user records from backups.

What stays on your device

Your local app database, which may include your product catalog, counting sessions, purchase orders, receiving records, write-off records, and local settings, remains on your device. To remove local data, uninstall the app or clear app data through your device settings. Exports you created and shared to other apps are not affected by account deletion.

App store purchase records

When paid plans become available, subscription purchases will be handled by Google Play or Apple App Store. Those platforms retain purchase history according to their own policies and are outside our control. Deleting your Retail Scan & Stock cloud account does not cancel an active app store subscription. Cancel your subscription in Google Play or App Store directly if you want billing to stop.

Deleting your account without access to the app

If you cannot open the app or cannot sign in, you can request account deletion by email. Send a message to privacy@retailscanstock.com from the email address associated with your Retail Scan & Stock account. Include the subject line "Account deletion request" and mention the email you signed up with.

We will verify your request and confirm deletion by email within 7 business days of receiving a verifiable request.

Support correspondence

If you have contacted us through support@retailscanstock.com or privacy@retailscanstock.com, the content of your messages may remain in our support inbox for operational and legal reasons for up to 12 months, and is then deleted. Support correspondence is stored separately from your account record and is not deleted automatically when you delete your cloud account.
